This is an afroBASS tune, named after the part of Lagos, Nigeria where I grew up. afroBASS is a style of music heavily influenced by the way in which dubstep has re-energised a lot of dub reggae. It’s essentially African music with the bassweight necessary to work a really big sound system. afroBASS will typically (!) feature more percussion than dubstep, though it’s made at a similar tempo so it can easily be mixed into a dubstep set. This and other afroBASS tunes are definitely candidates for release on Drunk Elephant Sound.
